Overview
The basic function of the Equipment Operator is to perform specialized skilled work in the operation and
maintenance of heavy equipment. This involves operating such equipment as heavy trucks, loaders, bulldozers, graders, and
backhoes.
Duties & Responsibilities

Operate a variety of light and heavy machinery, including excavators, graders, water trucks, loaders, rollers, dozers,
and mini-excavators.

Safely and efficiently perform equipment operations while adapting to traffic, soil, and weather conditions.

Handle and move materials as required for the project needs.

Work safely at all times and follow all company policies and procedures.

Maintain equipment and supplies through proper use, inspections, and regular upkeep; support continuous workplace improvements.

Carry out grading and staking procedures in accordance with project specifications and layout guidelines.

Provide hands-on support to supervisors and equipment operators during excavation activities.

Assist laborers as needed to complete jobsite tasks.

Record and document daily project activities.

Meet project schedules and budget requirements.

Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Ensure equipment, vehicles, and work areas are clean, well-maintained, and free from hazards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years of equipment operation experience.
- Skilled in operating a wide range of heavy and excavation equipment.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, including hot saws, plate compactors, and jumping jack compactors.
- Experienced with GPS, field laser levels, sight levels, and other surveying equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply blueprints, plans, and layouts for project setup.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Salary Range
$30 - $40 per hour
